About the team

Our mission is to grow and strengthen the marketplace by building strategic partnerships and guiding long-term planning. We work with external partners on both the supply and demand sides to expand our offerings and reach. Internally, we collaborate closely with teams like Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure our partnerships and growth initiatives align with company priorities and deliver meaningful value to our customers, pros, and partners.

The New Ventures team sits within Business Development and is tasked with ideating, incubating, and standing up new “bets” within Thumbtack. They think like GMs and work cross functionally and co-own strategy, partner development, product strategy, and on the ground execution of the “new ventures” they are building. These teams create value by identifying new opportunities outside of Thumbtack’s core business, and often focus on creating net new experiences for new user segments. The main objective and ultimate goal for the team is to enable the overall success of our new ventures.
